Verizon Says It Will Open Network to "Any Apps, Any Device" in 2008
It appears Verizon is saying anyone can use their cell phone network, and not just for voice but data too. The possibilities. This may also answer the nagging question I had about Amazon’s new electronic paper device—“Kindle”: the description said it used cell phone techology to download newspapers, magazines, etc., but it didn’t talk about a particular provider, and there was no signing up for a plan, etc. Maybe they’re already in on this type of service. Sheesh—the communication landscape, it is a changing. :-)
